Hello! Furious Think is your go-to for critical & creative thinking resources. Aimed at ages 9 & up, our items are downloadable (PDFs) and provide ample opportunity to practice conversation, writing and visual storytelling skills. We are based in Toronto and sell our items worldwide.

The people

The person behind Furious Think is me, Cynthia Reynolds. I create most of the content (and if you're sending an email, it's probably me who'll answer it). I work with invaluable contributors, who help to create the line-up of resources.

This includes graphic designer Kim Mallette, who is simply amazing; illustrator Silvia Stanziola, who created the fabulous animal covers for our signature critical thinking and conversation series; and writer Marc Poliquin, who is bringing new creative energy to our latest series based around stories and storytelling.

The goal

The idea behind Furious Think is to provide a simple way to help grow critical & creative thinking skills and to inspire great conversations. I consider these things to be assets in life and to be fundamentally human.

Overall, I hope our resources can help prepare young people for the future. For me, this means building their critical & creative thinking skills - including their ability to think strategically and laterally; to communicate through writing or drawing; and to have the confidence to engage in a variety of conversations and discussions.

These are skills needed to succeed as individuals, to be decent citizens who can help create a decent world and - in case everything goes sideways 😬 - to face the challenges of uncertainty.

For all levels

I do try to create materials that can work for all levels, focusing on ages 9-14. That said, people are using our items for a much wider age range, from younger kids to high school and even university. Most stuff here is open-ended, so it's easily adaptable. Our content is also different and highly engaging, so it tends to connect with a wide range of ages.

The content

The content is engaging if not a bit quirky. That's because it draws from a variety of areas, including Ancient Greek philosophy, political strategy, history, war, science & tech issues, anything sci fi, fairy tale & fantasy-related, global news, current affairs, topics on social media, pop culture, even cheesy action movies.

All of these ideas get connected, reimagined and reshaped into scenarios and topics that are substantive, interesting, fun and that seem to capture kids' - as well as adults' - attention and imagination. 

Simplicity 

Personally, I crave simplicity. You'll find this mood reflected in the distraction-free design of our items. It makes our content easier to digest and helps it work for our wide age range.
