This book is one of our kid favourites.

It's all about something we whole-heartedly believe: that the world needs more creative brains. And in this book, we challenge kids to maximize theirs.

How does it work?

The concept is simple.

We provide a title, and kids make up a story - comic strip style - that goes with it. They can use up to 12 boxes of the storyboard, and can draw, write or both.

We include lines below the boxes, which can be used to add to the story or help explain what's happening in it. They're optional.

Here's an example:

Important! You don’t have to be good at art to do this book. In fact, you can completely use text if you want - like this:

Some more examples of our titles: My Secret Zombie; Snack Time; The Soup Maker, The Hidden _________, The Dog Who Longed to be A _________.

    This book includes:

    • A few words of instruction on how to create our storyboards. (Hint: just do what comes naturally; no need to be fussy.)
    • A Storyboard Challenge checklist to help challenge kids to complete every. single. storyboard.
    • Extra blank storyboards at the back.

Overall this book works skills that are timeless, timely and prized: thinking on your feet, storytelling, creating something from nothing.

FYI! For more storyboards, check out our Storyboard Notebook, which offers 100 pages of storyboard templates.

Age range: Pretty much all ages – from reading age to adult. (Yep, we gotta give our creative brains some love, too!)
